In this activity we had too search the internet  for an inspirational quote then write it in boxes on a piece of paper then after  writing our quote we had too color our the spaces between our letters if you cant see my quote clearly says if you don't accept you fate than gain the courage to change it now I can't think of anything else to write so i'm leaving.

In this activity we had to research about why we celebrated the Queens Birthday,Boxing day and Labor day and what the celebrations origins were. I found this activity easy because all we really had to do was research about why we celebrate he queens birthday,boxing day and labor day.

Naruto Speech

In this activity we were learning to write a speech then after completing our speech presenting it to a group of friends. I loved this activity because I got to write a three minute speech about my favorite anime. I was stuck in this activity when I had to write a conclusion to my speech (person 1: Conclusions are the hardest part to any speech. person 2:´mutters´ Choosing a topic is harder than writing a conclusion but Ill go along with you for now. person 1: Huh what did you say person 2? person 2: Oh I said choosing a topic is harder than writing a conclusion´smiles evilly´. person 1:No writing a conclusion is harder than choosing a topic! person 2: Coming from the person who took three days to chose a topic and 15 minutes to write a conclusion´smirks´. person 1: Grrrr!!!!!! Working Out The Area Of Multiple Paddocks

In this activity we had to look at different paddocks and measure each paddock and write down how we worked out the are of each paddock. I found this activity hard at first but as I worked through it I found it easier to answer the questions.

HOW TO USE MANNERS!!!

In this activity we were making pictures or taking videos of how to use one of our values we had to write examples of manners and when to use them if we wanted to we were allowed to make a video of using our manners.

Ordering Fractions

My Reflection

In this activity we had to read 10 math questions that involved fractions. After reading the questions we had to find the answer to the question and explain how we found the answer. I found this activity hard because I didn't know how to explain how I got the answer.

Analzying Persuasive Text

My Reflection

WAL to identify persuasive techniques.  We had to figure out which technique they were using.  We had practised these techniques in the skits we created.  For example 30 Seconds has a slogan :”Spray and Walk Away”

The technique I found easiest to remember is Emotional appeal

The technique that was hardest was testimonial

Overall, it was pretty easy

Identifying Bias in a text.

 My Reflection

WAL to identify bias in a text.  We had to highlight the words that showed Koro Apirana being biased.  He would be mean to Kahu because he wanted a boy to be the chief but Kahu was next in line and she is a girl.  

I thought this activity was easy because I could find the examples.

The easiest part was the ones where it said he was grumpy with her.  The hardest part was where it didn’t say it very clearly.

I hope we get to do something like this again.

MY 3G STORY!!!!!

 

My Reflection

In this activity we had to write a story with a maximum amount of words of 250 and the minimum amount of words being 150. We had to write the story about when we had thought a good thought,done a good deed 

and spoke good things.

Term 2 Week 2

Term two of school  has finally started and it is all ready week two! Time has gone by so fast.  It may have been two weeks but to me it only felt like a few days. Anyway I'm going to talk about most of the big events that have happened during the two weeks school has started.  The first event is the start of Term two.  I was really excited about Term two starting because I was so bored during the holidays.  I was just sitting around waiting for school to start so once school started I nearly cried in happiness.  During the day we really didn't do anything interesting.  The next interesting topic I will be talking about is the councilor meeting.  During the meeting we were just talking about what our roles would be during the whole school assembly.  The meeting was during Week two of Term two on Wednesday the tenth of May two-thousand and seventeen.  The next interesting event was the trip to the Buddhist Temple.  I wasn't their that day because I had a doctors appointment.   Okay that is all of the interesting events that happened during the two weeks of school or the events that I can remember anyways bye.   

Bridge to Terrabithia Chapter Sequence and Summaries

My Reflection

In this activity we were learning to sequence chapters in books and summaries the main events that happened in the chapters.  I found this activity fun and a bit hard.  The fun bit was because the activity made you trigger your memory so you were able to remember what happened in the chapters.  The hard bit was because you had to find the main events in the chapters and write them down in your own words.

Making connections

WAl to Make Connections between the real world and a text 

Room 20 has been reading the book bridge to Terabithia In the story. It was raining really hard and the whole creek was swollen and flooded.  Yesterday It was pouring here as well so we decided to do some authentic learning.  We made some rain coats out of plastic bags and walked down to see the creek behind the school! We could see the water flowing fast and the plants that were flattened.  I thought that the creek was rushing insanely fast.  So I could see why Jessie was scared to swing across the creek because of how fast and strong the current was.

Writing a Balanced Argument

My Reflection 

In this activity we were learning to write a balanced argument.  I found this activity easy because I love writing especially when it is descriptive writing.  There is not much I can reflect about this activity so I'll just write what I can. In this activity you had to write a balanced argument about if bullying is good or bad.

Bike skills

My Reflection

Something that I enjoyed at bike skills was the encouragement everyone gave each other while you were riding the bike.  No one was sad at all even if you failed at first everyone gave you encouragement to try again.  There was such a happy atmosphere around everyone and there wasn't anyone frowning.

What I found hard was actually learning how to ride the bike because it was my first time ever being on a bike.  Well I have been on a bike but it was my first time learning how to ride the bike.  It was so irritating when the pedals were scraping your ankles when you were moving.  The seat was also uncomfortable.

Something that I have never done before was riding a bike.   I felt so uncomfortable trying to ride the bike.  I really didn't like it at first because of how uncomfortable it was.  After the session I was actually happy about trying to ride the bike instead of giving up straight away.

Bridge To Terabithia-Prediction

 My Reflection

In this activity we were comparing two of the covers to Bridge To Terabithia. Then see what were the same on both covers. We then wrote the key words from the title of the book. After writing the key words we had to read the blurb of the book. Then write down the key words that we found from the blurb. Then Using the information we had gathered we had to write down our prediction of what we think might happen in the story.

Term 1 Week 6

The last month of school has been busy. We have had only returned from camp a week ago yet it feels like centuries. Some of the bigger events(I could not find anything else and I am not using the word things to replace events) at school have been that the head boy and girl have been selected. we also have had a spelling test to see how good we have gotten at spelling over the holidays. At least that is what I thought it was for. I personally liked the spelling test and my idea of what it was for. Then there was also the arrival of the badges for everyone that has got  more important job at school.  We have gotten to write a did you ever poem about three activities we have done at camp. The arrangement of the poem was the title did you ever. 

Then three lines describing the activity you have chosen. You need one noun at the start of each line then a verb with the suffix ing added onto it. After the last line of describing the activity you add a line that has a statement or advice about the activity. But my favorite event that has happened has been the selection of the house captains.

I feel like i´m going to enjoy the next few weeks of school.

My first day of year 6

In this story I was learning to write a short descriptive story(even though it was a descriptive story it was not short). Using three of the five senses touch,sight and sound(hear?). I found this easy more than hard because I like to write in my free time(if i'm not drawing or reading). My stories that I write are usually long and descriptive they are only short and non descriptive on rare occasions.

In this activity we were placed in groups of threes. We were given the task of finding words we did not know in a school journal. Then writing what we thought was the definition of the word. When we finished we searched through a dictionary to find the real definition of the words we did not know. I found this activity easier then my team mates did because I knew more of the definitions than they did. So I helped with all the words they did not know.

In this activity I was learning to write a short descriptive feeling poem about excitement. Using the five senses. I found this writing fun because I got to write a descriptive poem using the five senses.

In this activity we were writing what we love and what we hate. Such as your favorite subject your least favorite subject common things. If you really wanted to you could write your favorite color. Okay that is all I can really say if you want to hear more check on other kennings poem blog posts.

45 letter sounds

 My Reflection

In this activity we are learning to recognize sounds in a letter or two letters. Then spell words by listening to the sounds in the words. There are 45 letter sounds and we have completed 14 sounds.

Term 1 Week 2

I can't believe that two weeks of school have already gone right past us. Elm Park School doesn't use  boring old house points anymore. Instead they use tokens. At the end of the term the house with the most tokens gets a fun day on the last day of the term. Elm Park School created a chart called a tick chart. If you want to earn a tick your teacher must see you using either respect,responsibility or resilience. If you were to get ten ticks then you would get a reward. Depending on how many ticks you have determines how good the reward would be (you earn a reward for each group of ten ticks you have gathered). My highlight of these last two weeks was the house captain speeches. The reason the speeches were my favorite was how brave the house captain candidates were. Every candidate gave courage to people who didn't even write a speech it was enough courage to make a few more people from each house step up and try out for house captain. That was what my highlight of the week was.
