In this activity we were learning how to do a simple animation that we based off of Michael's journey around the world from the book Kensukes Kingdom I found this activity hard yet very fun.

In this activity we had to search for article that fits the description for one of the boxes. I found this hard because I don´t watch or read the news  so this was kind of new to me.

Identifying Bias in a text.

 My Reflection

WAL to identify bias in a text.  We had to highlight the words that showed Koro Apirana being biased.  He would be mean to Kahu because he wanted a boy to be the chief but Kahu was next in line and she is a girl.  

I thought this activity was easy because I could find the examples.

The easiest part was the ones where it said he was grumpy with her.  The hardest part was where it didn’t say it very clearly.

I hope we get to do something like this again.

Bridge to Terrabithia Chapter Sequence and Summaries

My Reflection

In this activity we were learning to sequence chapters in books and summaries the main events that happened in the chapters.  I found this activity fun and a bit hard.  The fun bit was because the activity made you trigger your memory so you were able to remember what happened in the chapters.  The hard bit was because you had to find the main events in the chapters and write them down in your own words.

Making connections

WAl to Make Connections between the real world and a text 

Room 20 has been reading the book bridge to Terabithia In the story. It was raining really hard and the whole creek was swollen and flooded.  Yesterday It was pouring here as well so we decided to do some authentic learning.  We made some rain coats out of plastic bags and walked down to see the creek behind the school! We could see the water flowing fast and the plants that were flattened.  I thought that the creek was rushing insanely fast.  So I could see why Jessie was scared to swing across the creek because of how fast and strong the current was.

Bridge To Terabithia-Prediction

 My Reflection

In this activity we were comparing two of the covers to Bridge To Terabithia. Then see what were the same on both covers. We then wrote the key words from the title of the book. After writing the key words we had to read the blurb of the book. Then write down the key words that we found from the blurb. Then Using the information we had gathered we had to write down our prediction of what we think might happen in the story.

My Reflection

In this activity we were placed in groups of threes. We were given the task of finding words we did not know in a school journal. Then writing what we thought was the definition of the word. When we finished we searched through a dictionary to find the real definition of the words we did not know. I found this activity easier then my team mates did because I knew more of the definitions than they did. So I helped with all the words they did not know.

In this activity we were allowed to chose a partner to work with and one of us would pretend to be a character from one of the books Once,Then and after and interview them I found this activity hard because I couldn't think of good questions.

My Reflection

In this activity we had to make connections to the book Once and make 6 to 8 question about World War 2 I found it hard because I couldn't think of many questions and it took me a long time to find the answers.

 In this activity we had to read the book Maniac Magee and then write things that are the same between John McNab and MarsBar and  things that are different between John McNab and MarsBar.

Themes in 88 Lime street

My Reflection
In this activity we had to remember some of the things about the book 88 Lime street and write in some of the themes in 88 Lime street and then write How do you know that they are some of the main themes and you had to provide examples then you had to write a paragraph saying what is the main idea why you think it's the main idea and evidence that supports your opinions.

88 Lime Street Novel Readers Response

In this activity we had to write a readers response to Denise Kirby's Novel 88 Lime Street. On the first page for our response we had to write the title of the book. On the second page we had to write our Walt.On the third page we had to write a personal experience about what happend to us that also happend to someone in the book. On the fourth page we had to write if we liked the book or  not and why.On the fifth page we had to write what movies or cartoons reminded us about the book.On the sixth page we had to research about a famous house and write it down to show people about the house we researched about.
